USE THE POWER OF TELEVISION TO INCREASE PROFIT AT YOUR RESORT

Resort TV provides resorts and hotels with an innovative marketing tool to directly and effectively communicate to guests in their rooms, keeping guests in the know while also boosting in-house spending and vacation ownership sales.

From the moment your guests arrive at the Reception Desk you can take them on a captivating visual journey that will continue throughout their holiday with you. Your guest's first Resort TV experience begins with a tailor-made TV channel designed exclusively for your reception area, because you only get one chance to make a first impression. This is where Resort TV can immediately help to relax your guests, lifting apprehension and anxiety by painting a picture of the resort, its facilities, the management and, most importantly, the unforgettable holiday awaiting them.

Modern guests are media savvy and demand accessible and instant information, even on vacation. They want to know everything that's going on, in and around the resort, at any point in the day. In today's multi-functional vacation environment, Resort TV is an essential tool.

"No other communication channel between resort and guest has ever been so comprehensive, instant and non-intrusive, equalled only by the face-to-face experience of a sales person with the added benefit of message integrity and synergy" says Tony O'Reilly Strategic Marketing Director for Absolute World Group.

Resort TV harnesses the influence that television has on the world and helps resorts and hotels increase revenues by adding personalized channels to their existing resort television network. The system replaces the industry standard rotating corporate video (which may only be watched once during a guest's stay) with Resort TV's multiple channels and programming, significantly increasing the opportunity to communicate customized messages to guests throughout their visit.

Resort TV is a customized product that is carefully designed to suit both the style of your resort and its guests. From the frequency of promotional material to the genre of music videos, Resort TV is tailored to create the right balance of atmosphere and information for your resort. Resort TV is much more than a marketing product, it is a "total resort multi-lingual AV communications network' encompassing separate channels for bars, spas, reception areas, restaurants, and even poolside.

How does Resort TV work?

Resort TV taps into the existing resort's TV info-structure through a customized computer interface and provides multi-channel and multi-lingual marketing messages directly onto the resort's television channels. These messages allow resorts to reach beyond the standard "hotel channels" and onto the guest's most popular cable and satellite channels.

Customized entertainment, excursion, film, news and sports channels can be created by interfacing cable or satellite content with

  • Promotional videos produced by the resort
  • Web-pages containing international news and sports updates
  • Local weather forecasts
  • Airport arrivals and departures
  • Google Internet Television
  • And more - the opportunities are endless......

The easy to use on-line client interface allows resort management to instantly change messages on the resorts TV channels from any computer at any time, a major benefit to brands with multiple locations in different time zones.

The TV message interface provides a real-time multi-lingual communications tool that also allows resort management to inform guests of potential issues that they may need to deliver in an instant. Such messages might include communication of service changes, elevators out of service, a disruption to the shuttle bus service, special offers in the restaurant, entertainment promotions, even a fire! Until now this type of information has been almost impossible to deliver instantly however, such accessible information will always enhance your guest's vacation experience.

The key to successfully communicating with guests is to transfer resort knowledge and benefits to them without provoking a feeling of being "sold to". Such a careful approach needs meticulous and dedicated pre-planning to ensure the right buttons are being pressed when dealing with customers. The resort's management, sales and marketing departments all play a full and active role in deciding the content of their channels and the marketing and sales messages within them.

Google Internet TV

Resort TV's Google interface allows resorts with a wireless internet network the ability to add internet access (restricted if required) to all of their rooms and apartments. Now your guests will not have to carry their laptops halfway around the world just to keep in touch with their emails and favourite web pages.

Your resort can have its own homepage and together we can create an index of personalized web pages for each apartment. "Room Service on-line" and "View my Bill" are only a few examples of additions that can be created to interact with the existing reservation system at the resort. Now your resort TV can also have a web page - a Google web page.

Resort Internet TV Channel

Resort TV's built in on-line TV creator allows you to connect to your members via on-line media players and "Apps" when they are no longer staying at your resort. Resort TV's programmers can help you create an on-line TV channel that will keep your members up to date with what is happening at your resort whilst giving you the ability to deliver special offers in full motion video that will entice change to enticing them and their friends to want to come back to your resort time and time again. Additional websites can also be created to export a custom-made promotional channel onto your resort's website creating your very own internet TV channel, exposing and promoting your resort programs to a global audience.

The future of the internet is Internet TV and with Resort TVs' Internet TV Creator you will be at the leading edge of the next internet evolution.

Never before has an in-house communication and marketing system been so simple and effective, instantly transmitting all of your resort's sales information in a direct and clear manner, without the need to produce and manage vast quantities of hard marketing material. Resort TV provides resorts with a competitive edge in the form of lower costs, fewer needed resources, increased sales, higher guest to tour conversion ratio, higher tour to sales ratio, and lower cancellation rates. All these together equal one thing - greater profits!

Is Resort TV a cost or a profit center?

According to figures from the American Resort Development Association International Foundation, its 'Financial Performance 2010, a survey of Timeshare & Vacation Ownership Companies' states that the net closing rate among surveyed companies was 15.8% with an average rescission rate of 13.4%. Any improvement of either of these percentages will mean significant additional revenues for a resort and its owners.

The report also identified an average transaction value of $16,431 and a total sales and marketing cost averaging 41.8%, which indicates a sales and marketing cost of around $6,900 per transaction. This figure is significantly higher than the monthly running costs of Resort TV and potentially means that just one additional interval sale or one saved cancellation per month can easily provide the budget for running all of the resorts in-house marketing/information/entertainment channels 24/7. Carefully considered promotions can create further revenues from any increased sales of food and beverages, excursions and accommodation while at the same time helping tocreate more sales/less cancellations from other guests already staying at a resort - adding significant revenues to the bottom line.

Resort TV in action at Absolute Bangla Suites in Thailand.

'At Absolute we always like to be at the leading edge of guest communications and offering our owners and guests new experiences. Through introducing new Technologies such as Resort TV, we can now inform and update our guests whilst they are relaxing in the privacy of their apartments via our in-room TV channels. Immediately after we launched our first installation at Bangla Suites we saw it bring clients to out to our Halloween event, several Jacuzzi special packages sold and we had six none-owner 'hotel' type guests contact our Real Estate office, all these were directly attributed to promotions run through the Resort TV television channels. We at Absolute saw the system show us immediate returns on what we had spent'. Said Bryan Lunt Group Chairman and CEO of the Absolute World Group.
